Amazon Accelerate took over Seattle September 17-19, 2024. This was the third year of the in-person event (fifth year overall), and it’s gotten bigger each year. With over 3,000 in person attendees and thousands more tuning in online, we’re sharing the biggest news from the biggest event of the year.

In 2023, Amazon announced the launch of Supply Chain by Amazon, opened Amazon Warehousing and Distribution (AWD) to all sellers, and debuted the Buy with Prime + Shopify integration. In 2024, the news was even bigger.

Generative AI & Automation Improvements

The biggest news (that’s at least the most broadly appealing) was the growth of generative AI functionality within multiple different pieces of Amazon’s business. Let’s get into it.

Project Amelia

Project Amelia is designed to be a personal assistant for Amazon sellers, available within Seller Central. At any time, a seller can ask “How’s my business doing?” (or a variety of other questions, of course) and get a summary of key metrics as well as best practices and recommendations.

At the time of Accelerate 2024, Project Amelia was in beta, and is in the process of being rolled out to additional sellers in the coming months.

Business Planner

This new tool was designed to help Amazon sellers set, track, and achieve their goals. This will keep brands focused on making smart decisions. Recommendations will be provided, and will automatically update once action steps are taken toward those recommendations.

This feature is available to sellers now.

A+ Content Manager

Last year, Amazon announced generative AI functionality to help sellers create listings faster. This year, they’ve launched the A+ Content Manager, allowing sellers to use these same features to generate more robust and attractive A+ Content for their listings.

Not only is this great for brand awareness, the A+ Content Manager will translate into more than 20 languages and automatically update your A+ Content across all regions once updated or created.

Live Image & Video Generator

Trellis recently launched an image generator as it relates to ads, giving sellers the ability to easily create visually appealing images to use in Sponsored Brand and Sponsored Display ads.

At Accelerate, Amazon announced the ability to create (a limited amount of) live images. This will bring dynamic visuals, like steam coming off a cup of coffee or flowers blowing in the breeze.

This feature is still in its early stages, but is a rapidly growing feature. For a first look, check out Amazon’s release.

Product Listing Improvements

Generative AI will now learn more about shoppers, behaviors, and habits, and provide the most up-to-date and relevant recommendations as they’re shopping. The platform will also begin surfacing search keywords toward the beginning of product titles, ensuring potential buyers can see that your product is what they’re looking for.

Customer Return Analytics and Insights

Amazon also announced that it will begin aggregating data on customer returns in an effort to help sellers improve the overall experience for buyers.

Other News from Amazon Accelerate

Amazon Accelerate was a FULL three-day event, and there were so many updates that we didn’t get the opportunity to see. However, we’re going to rapid fire through these:

  • Amazon DSP will be available to those sellers utilizing Buy with Prime on their DTC websites, growing the amount of data and signals available to these brands.
  • Shoppers can check out utilizing Buy with Prime right inside TikTok on ad placements.
  • Amazon’s Multi-channel Fulfillment program will be taking standard 5-day shipping down to 3 days. This will also be visible in Google Shopping ads.
  • Advertising improvements and new features will be available to specifically target Amazon Business customers.
  • Both Seller Central and the seller app are getting improvements, making it easier to see key metrics as well as improving overall navigation.
  • Sellers working with Seller Support will now have the option to “Connect with a Specialist”, garnering one-on-one communication with someone from the support team who is capable of solving larger-scale problems with ease.
